I I GLC) Received a call from Jack Ticer, on the staff of the Senate Armed Services Committee, advising that he had final page proofs on Mr. Colby' s confirmation hearings for us to review and return. I made arrangements to pick up a copy from Ticer's office. 6., GLC) Mae Sykes, in the office of Congressional Inquiries, Department 4State, called to see if we knew anything about a program known as Operation Boulder. State has received a call from Representative John Breaux (D. , La.) asking for information on this program. Miss Sykes called back a short time later and said they had identified this as a State Department program and nothing further was needed from us. 7. JGO) Accompanied OCI, to a meeting with airman Dante Fascell and Representative Peter Frelinghuysen (R. , N. J. ), Subcommittee on Inter-American Affairs, House Foreign Affairs Committee, for briefing on Chile. ~iscussed some of the background including the June attempt leading to the coup, the present situation, and some possibilities for the future. Both Chairman Fascell and Representative Frelinghuysen expressed their appreciation for treatment of the topic. There are no followups from today' meeting. 8.
