13. Received a call from Jim Woolse Senate
Armed Services Committee staff, who said he would appreciat 5x1
or whoever comes with General Walters this morning, bringing with them
a full set of the tabs set forth in the listing of Agency documents provided to
committees. He wants to go over them after the meeting with General Walters
to be certain he has everything.
14, I land I talked to
has been in contact with Bernard Wells, of the Department of Justice, who is
the Executive Director of the Intelligence Evaluation Committee staff. Wells
has furnished Armstrong background on the IEC together with the names of
participants.
15. Accompanied General Walters in appearing
before the full Senate Armed Services Committee to elaborate on matters
relating to the General's memos recording discussions with White House
and FBI officials during June and July 1972 regarding the Watergate affair.

16, I I Delivered to Nancy Bearg for Jim Woolsey,
Senate Armed Services Committee staff, a sealed package containing a
complete set of record material pertaining to the Watergate transcripts.
25X1 17. Yesterday evening, Matt Harvey, Director,
Office of Legislative fairs, , spoke to me of Senator Daniel Inouye's
continuing suspicions that we were using I and Harvey 25X1
suggested I try to meet the Senator and straig en .im out at an early opportunity.
18. I I Talked to Ed Braswell, Chief Counsel,
Senate Armed Services Committee, who understands that the hearing on
confirmation of Mr. Schlesinger's nomination as Secretary of Defense will
not be before late next week or sometime the following week (the week of
11 June).

22. Talked with Guy McConnell, Senate
Appropriations Committee staff, and Bill Woodruff, Department of the
Air Force, about Senator Alan Cranston's desire to have intelligence
community budget totals made public and told them that Bill Colby was
having an Agency position developed on this. See Memo for Record..
23, uIn connection with a cable from
i was learned from Dick Aherne, State
Department, that the courier bringing the 21 May Senate Foreign Relations
Committee transcript had been delayed from Monday to today; (2) it was
learned by Mr. O'Neill from the House Armed Services Committee that
they do not intend to release Ambassador Helms' 17 May testimony unless
State requests a copy of the transcript. A cable advisin of this
and other matters was sent.
24. Mary Craft, in the office of Represen-
tative J. J. Pickle (D. , Tex. ),'requested a copy for the Congressman's
use of a statistical summary entitled "Foreign Trade of the Eastern
European Communist Countries 1960 - 1970.',' I told her I would check and
be back in touch.
