I briefed Preston on the Syrian acquisition of the Soviet FROG-7; Soviet SS-X-17 ICBM test; and the 10 February interception of an opium shipment from Afghanistan to Iran. ", Met with Frank Slatinshek, Chief Counsel, House Arme ervices Committee, and discussed the proposed briefing for himself and Chairman Nedzi, Intelligence Subcommittee, that had been requested on CIA methodology in OB and other statistical analyses. Slatinshek asked that I contact Chairman Nedzi and arrange for the briefing directly with him. I briefed Slatinshek on the Director's appearance before the joint CIA Subcommittees of Senate Armed Services and Appropriations. Slatinshek had no comment.
