9. (Unclassified - LLM) George Murphy, Joint Committee on Atomic
Energy staff, called requesting our approval to release Agency transcripts
and material to the Special Prosecutor in response to the latter request and
I said this would be perfectly all right. Murphy stressed that Senator Baker
wanted Mr. Colby to know that he was scrupulously adhering to our agreement
for the handling of this material and that he wanted to be sure that its handling
met with Mr. Colby's approval. was advised. 25X1A
10. (Unclassified - LLM) Mike Madigan, Senate Select Committee
on Presidential Campaign Activities staff, called to request permission for
himself and Howard Liebengood, of the Committee staff, to temporarily
remove Agency transcripts and material from the custody of George Murphy,
Joint Committee on Atomic Energy staff, for work in their office in the
Dirksen Office Building. Madigan said we should consider this as a request
from Senator Baker and I told him I would see what we could work out.
11. (Unclassified - BAO) Received a call from Mooney in the office
of Representative W. C. (Dan) Daniel, (D. , VA. ), requesting the phone
number and position title of Carl Duckett. After checking with 25X1A
and informing Mr. Cary, I called her and gave her the information.
12. ( Unclassified -PLC) Called Alan Chvotkin, staff member,
Subcommittee on Budgeting, Management and Expenditure, Senate Government
Operations Committee, to determine the status of S. 1414, among those bills
on Congressional budget reform. According to Chvotkin, the bill was
calendared for a vote, but he doubts that it will ever come up this session.
It was originally agreed that the bill would be considered separate from
S. 1541 and R. 7.130 the major bills on budget reform which passed both
houses and are now in conference.
13. (Confidential - JGO) Received a call from Art Kuhl, Chief Clerk,
Senate Foreign Relations Committee, who told me 25X1A
