MEMORANDUM FOR: Mr. John S. Warner, OGC/LC
SUBJECT : The Foreign Assistance Act of 1961
1. It is noted that Section 911 of the Foreign Service Act is
amended by the addition for sections (9) and (10). (10) Authorizes
travel expenses of members of the family under certain conditions to
accompany the officer on temporary duty assignments.
Z. Under controlled conditions and in selected cases, the authorit
provided in section (10) would be helpful to OTR when instructors from
25X1A Headquarters are required to perform training duty on ex-
tended temporary duty assignments away from Headquarters or other
permanent station.
3. It is therefore suggested that the above authority be obtained
for this Agency.
