MEMORANDUM FOR: the Director
Attached is a letter to Senator Russell
supporting H. A. 2989, to amend the Missing
Persons Act. LLaet year DOS!, at our initiative
'Sponsored this legislation which has now passes
the House. It clarifies legally the situation of
cold war prisoners. It is on the agenda of the
fiats Armed Services Committee and possibli
just a little further push will get action. A
similar letter was signed by the Director to
Mr. Vinson last year.
