CIA Iequirements for Military Maps and Charts, FY 1974-1981 REFERENCE Your memorandum S-6690/MC-2, dated 10 November 1971, same subject 1. The current CIA estimate of requirements for standard Department of Defense mapping, charting, and geodesy products during the period FY 1974"-1981 is forwarded herewith. As requested, these requirements express total needs for a product without.reference to -the feasibility of production or the adequacy of existing coverage. Only changes from previous requirements are noted in the text of this memorandum.; all other earlier requirements continue to be valid. 2. Anticipated intelligence requirements for standard topographic nit ps are shown on the accompanying, three index maps. Significant changes ir:ciude the addition or increased priority of West Africa, southern Chile, Afghanistan, and a large area in south central Mongolia. There are no deletions from last year's submission. 3. There are no changes in requirements for the Far East 1:50,000 program, the USSR 1:250,000 program, the ATC 1:200,000 program, or the Pilotage Charts 1:500,000 program. The index maps for these programs which were attached to last year's statement of requirements therefore remain valid and are not resubmitted. 25X5 5. The prospect of increasing tensions in the Caribbean dictates a Priority IB Primary requirement for 1:50,000 coverage of the Lesser Antilles. 7. The priority for a town plan of Leningrad, USSR, remains IA, but the scale, shown in our 1968 memorandum as 1:12,500, should be changed to 1:15,000. 8. The following town plans for cities in Latin America are added as a Priority ID requirement: Arica, Chile Belmopan, British Honduras Cienfuegos, Cuba Guantanamo, Cuba 9.
