Approved Foraelease 2001/04/05: CIA-RDP7640183R000100040017-3 DIARY NOTES A DD A 9 March 19511 25X1A 1. Dr. Tietjen was over to discuss with me a report made by the Military Personnel Division which alleged that the Medical Office had mishandled the case of a Dr. Tietjen is meeting with Harry Reynolds to try to straighten 25X1 A9a out the matter. talked to Harry and told him that I thought the Military Per- sonnel Division had used extremely poor judgment in forwarding to the Inspector General a copy of its.Memorandum for the Record without bothering to check into the accuracy of statements. Harry agreed and said that he could 25X1 A9a assure me that the Military Personnel Division would not take such action again without his knowledge and permission. 25X1 A9a 2. Met with Harry Reynolds, and George Meloon to discuss a memorandum on the proposed OCD table of organization which 25X9A2 requested 80 positions specifically for a cushion against which OCD might recruit in order to reach its personnel ceiling of Mr. 25X1 A9a agreed that OCD could, with the cooperation of Personnel, accomplish the same thing without these 80 positions. I. therefore, agreed to approve of the table of organization with these positions delparticularly d. Informally, I assured Messrs. 25X1 A9a Meloon that I would not get excited if an individual DD/I Office were a position or two over its ceiling just as long as the total DD/I area remained within its over-all ceiling. 25X1A9a 3. Mr. of the WE Division was up with a request that I sign off 25X1A9a on $595 as reimbursement to for a lease which he was forced to can- 25X1A6a cel in by reason of the fact that he was ordered home for separation. 25X1 A9a Told ?SSINSSLo take the paper back and process it through Finance channels with proper documentation. 25X1A9a 4. presented informally a claim requesting re- 25X1 A9a imbursement to Mr. fora trip which he had made to the Lahey Clinic in Boston. Even though Mr. made the trip on his own initiative the Bureau 25X1 A9a of Employees Compensation has agreed to reimburse him for medical expenses that he incurred but has denied the travel claim inasmuch as it is their position 25X1 A9a that the trip to Boston was his own personal business. INNIS lives in Salem., Massachusetts, and stays with his parents on a leave status. Asked Joe to as- sist Personnel in every way possible to substantiate this claim with the Bureau of Employees Compensation.. However, it does not appear appropriate for us to pay this claim out of vouchered money when another Government agency has de- clined to do so; nor does it appear appropriate to pay it out of unvouchered money. 25X1A9a 5. reports that Mr. - has submitted his resignation. 25X1A9a Approved For Release 2001/04/06: CIA-RDP76-00183R000100040017-3 Approved For Release 2001/04/05: CIA-RDP76-OOta3R000100040017-3 25X1 A9a 6, Chatted with about her unhappiness in her present position in the Management Im rovement Staff. This unhappiness apparently stems from a 25X1 A9a personal fight with I told Gertrude to sit tight until the new Chief of the Staff had been designated, indicating that this should take place sometime within the next few days.
