2. Instructed Reproduction to work over the weekend if necessary in order to
get the cable procedure for the field reproduced in time to send it out on Monday
morning.
3. Brigadier General John B. Ackerman, Department of the Air Force.. telephoned
to say that several days ago General Smith had talked to him about the possibility
of recalling retired Air Force officers to active duty, indicating that CIA would be
willing to reimburse, etc. General Ackerman said that he had explored this sugges-
tion and saw no objection whatever to it. However, he requested that we submit a
test case if possible, I told him that I would try to do so in the very near future.
