DIARY NOTES
30 April. 1952
1. Had a conference with Chief of the Processing Branch,., Signal
Center, in connection with furnis 1ng is Office with cables which involve admin-
istrative support. A folder of cables will be sent to my office each morning at
about 10:00 a.m. and I will, through trial and error., try to work out a system which
will help us to speed up the solution of administrative support problems in the
field. In this regard I also had a talk with Mr. Hulick of DD/P's Office who ad-
vised me that is furnished a summary of cables each morning and that it
had been assumed that this met our needs. We agreed that such a summary might be
helpful but in all probability would not accomplish our purpose. I will arrange
with John to have a look at these summaries during the next few days to determine to
what extent, if any, they will meet our needs,

3. Conferred with regarding a method by which
we could tell at all times approximately how many employees, and what kind, we have

that are not reflected in normal T/O's. It is believed that by getting a monthly
report from the Special Contracting Officer and the Commercial Division we will
know pretty accurately what this strength amounts to. I will make these arrange-
ments.
