Colonel Herman Kaesser, G-2, telephoned again with reference to a letter written by G-2, Third Army, concerning Personnel Procurement Officer - I 25X1A9a told him that I could assure G-2 that our personnel who desired to screen reserve records would check in with them in the future. George Meloon was so instructed and agreed that it was proper procedure. 25X1A 2. Mr. Carey telephoned about having to pay more 25X1A6a for commissary supplies, hospitalization, etc., than other U. S. Government em- ployees I suggested that he talk with Dr. Tietjen about the hos- pitalization and stated that if he wanted us to take up the matter formally with the Defense Department I was sure that we would be glad to explore it. 3. Agreed that the General Counsel should attempt to get postponement of jury duty for two employees. One individual is a key man on the Registry in OSO and the other is an important cog in wheel. 25X1A9a 25X1A9a 4. Promised again that I would advise him immediately after the Director took action on our staff study in connection with "Personnel Ceilings." 5. Instructed Bill Peel to prepare a staff study on "Super Grades" in which General Davison and Ed Saunders would concur or comment. 6. Instructed Bill Peel to publish a Notice on "T/0 Procedure." This prob- lem is not sufficiently wrapped up to put out a regulation at this time, but it is necessary to standardize as much as we can now due to the fact that T/O requests are coming in from all directions and in all sorts of different shapes and forms. 7. Jim Garrison telephoned with regard to some more printing equipment. I said that Mr. Wolf wanted to be kept advised but that his approval was not necess- ary. I told him that if Administrative Service was requisitioning against an ap- proved project it was all right to go ahead but to make sure that he sent us an information copy so that we could be kept advised. I also briefed him on Mr. Harrison's upcoming visit to our reproduction plant, etc. 8. 00 was disappointed today in view of the fact that the PRC did not have a meeting. 00 has a project in to build certain houses during 1952 that 25X1A6a are budgeted for 1953. By so doing, they would save $40,000. I told that I would concur in the project and that I would tell 00 not to worry about it insofar as the Office of the DD/A was concerned. 25X1A9a 9. elephoned for advice on a travel order. Contact Division wants to order back to the States a girl who has been involved in an automobile ac- Joe wanted to know whether the travel order should read "from C1A6a to Westover Field. ? .final destination unknown" and whether tem- porary duty should be indicated. I told him that the order should not be for tem- porary dut but for permanent change of station and suggested that he write the )X1A6a order to Westover Field" and then write a new one to cover her travel "fromWestover to destination" when it is known. 25X1A9a io. telephoned to say that "off the record" he wanted me to K1A9a know that he did not concur in disapproval of Dr. Tietjen's request for permission to send messages to his doctors in the field. I thanked him and said that I expected to talk with about this further. 25X1A9a -2- Approved For Release 2001/06/09 : CIA-RDP76-00183R000100110097-7 SECRET
