Visited Messrs, Underwood and Hunter, Chief and Assistant Chief, respec- tively, of the Design and Construction Division, PBS, to discuss our building plan. A It was agreed that would, during the next day or two, , furnish them with complete requirements or our building so that when we talk with Mr. Reynolds after he gets back next week we will have assurance that his state- ments to us are made with full knowledge of our requirements, etc. 25X1A6a 3. I approved of Personnel Procurement taking a car to 25X1A6a for approximately one week due to the extreme transportation difficul- ties which would be involved otherwise. I also instructed Bill Peel that no cars were to be taken out of the Washington area on such trips without my personal per- mission. 25X1 A9a !t, I had luncheon with and it was agreed that he would enter on duty Monday, 21 January, as a GS- , Special Assistant to the DD/A. 5. Bill Peel was in with a letter from the Bureau of the Budget which would require us to report a number of facts concerning our contracts, manpower, etc. I told him to take this to Ed Saunders and ask him to go to the Bureau of the Budg- et and get an exception in our case, inasmuch as we could not possibly furnish this information without breaking security. 6, I also requested Bill Peel to hold up on publishing any changes in Tables of Organization for the next few days in view of the fact that we have an over-all policy problem to settle with the Director. 25X1 A9a 7. Visited the east wing of South Building with and agreed on new office space on the first floor. 8.
