Reported that Brig. Gen. Daniel 9. Books of the Air Force
had again approached us with the request that he be al lowed
go ahead and negotiate for about six acres of land at the
Langley site for the purpose of constructing a building to
house about 250 people connected with AV()IN. General Cabell
said that he had asked Gen. Hooks to hold off for another two
months seed until such time as we have title to the land. In
any event. Gen. Cabell said he had mode It clear to Hooks that
%;IA could play no part in this matter since we are more or less
hard of promising to assist other govern*cntel agencies
of Washington.
Mr. Lloyd:
