1. I advised Ed Saunders that I had noted the progress being made in the closing
out of the accounts of former Agency personnel but asked him to indicate a breakdown of
these accounts by fiscal year in his next monthly report.
2. Approved of taking leave next week. - will be Acting 25X1 A9a
Chief of the Management Staff in his absence.
25X1 A9a 4. Had lunch with - who briefed me on his trip to Europe. Of greatest
significance is the fact that he believes the Financial Property Accountability System is

is a little slow, but says that he understands what is to be done. He also

returning to active duty with the Navy. He said that he had enjoyed his tour with us very
much and felt that he had accomplished a great deal. I expressed my appreciation for
his contribution and told him that I thou ht he should derive a great deal of self -satisfac-
25X1 A6a don out of the fact that the peopl ad supported him so strongly and felt that
he had really done a great job. e did not mention his misunderstanding about returning
home early and I did not raise the subject. Whether he will leave as a disgruntled indi-
vidual I don't know, but he seemed to be satisfied.
6. Attended a Career Council Meeting at which the extension of the new T/O and
manpower control system- --which has been tried out in the Office of Communications
for the past year --- was approved.
