1. Agreed with Jim Garrison that it might be desirable for him to make a trip
to Europe in November inasmuch as I probably will not be able to do so until after
the first of the year.
2. Jim advised me that he needed some policy guidance on whether or not to
cancel some of the orders which he has in the mill for Asiatic flu vaccine. I asked
him to speak to Dr. Tietjen about this and to have Dr. Tietjen consult with me if ne-
cessary.
3. Talked to Jim about the case. He said that as a result of hi~5X1A9a
25X1A9a conversation with General -he understood that-was looking only at
the allegations concerning improper advances in July. I told him that I didn't see h

he could separate the two and that in any case he should turn over to - whatever
information we had on the September trouble and take no further action until his in-
vestigation was completed.
