1. Ed Saunders advised me that the Bureau of the Budget had approved of the 25X1 A2g
$4.4 million release for and I informed

25X1 A9a 2. is on jury duty and requested that his briefings be postponed
until February; I approved. He advised me that he had been in on the "Fitness Re-
port Committee" and thought that the new Form which was coming up at the Career
Council Meeting this Thursday was an improvement. He also informed me that he
had received a number of requests from the DD/S and DD/P Areas to do his presen-
tation on "Paperwork" and that had alerted him that he was going to 25X1 A9a
ask for similar presentations in the DD/I Area. He queried whether I wanted the
Management Staff to make a study of our telephones in order to cut down on the num-
ber of instruments available for outside calls. I told him that while I realized there
was a problem here I thought there were more important things that the Management
Staff could devote its attention to at the present time.

3. Had a talk with General - and he is agreeable to assuming the role
which played in running our Boards. At the moment he is trying to
complete a report on a DD/I survey but will get in. touch with me later this week at

which time I will arrange for him to have a talk with Shef Edwards and Larry Houston
and get started.
