1. Shef were up to brief me on a scheme of turnstiles which
they have for controlling entrance to the new building. This would involve a new kind of
badge which, when inserted in a slot, would permit the turnstile to open. The big problem
seems to be whether we can k=xmubKRx have such an arrangement in the main entrance
of the buildin and still, comply with fire control regulations. I will have to discuss this
with There is also a question of funds and I told Gene and Shef that I
hoped they would not come up with anymore last-minute proposals.

in the Commercial Staff and requested the assignment of me

of Security and especially the elimination of the Budget and Finance Section. He also says
he has heard that the Director of the Bureau of the Budget is going to be briefed on Project
