Approved For Release 2001/03 CIA-RDP76-00180R000300060209-6 E T DIARY NOTES DD/S 12 February 1960 25X1A 1. Lyman Kirkpatrick buzzed to say that his Survey of the NE Division had a great deal of information in it which would be of direct interest to the Deputy Director (Support) and thought that it would not be as meaningful unless he sent me the whole report. He proposed to do this if DD/P would agree, provided that I would limit its circulation to th25X1A9a Office of the DD/S including, of course, I told him that I would appreciate it very much if this could be done and that I could insure that its circulation would be so limited. He agreed that this would not include excerpting certain parts of it which would be of interest to an individual office. He also told me that he proposed to recommend to the Director that in the future IG Surveys be forwarded to the Director through the ap- propriate Deputy Director. I concurred in this recommendation. 25X1A9a 2. as in to see me about a report which had made 25X1A9a to the Director concerning the handling of certain charts for a Congressional committee. John said that Bob's memorandum was not accurate and he proposed to write another memo- randum to the Director. In lieu of this I contacted Bob and asked him to get together with John and to prepare another memorandum in which they agreed as to what the facts were in this particular case. 25X1A9a 3. advised me that the Director and the COMINT Committee were very concerned about a recent leak and that the USIB Secretariat Committee was meeting this afternoon to investigate the matter. 4. Jim Garrison was up to seek guidance on the position we should take with the General Counsel of the bus company which will furnish service to our new building. The company wants us to intervene in their controversy with the National Park Service con- cerning the use of the George Washington Memorial Parkway between Route 50 and the Chain Bridge. We agreed that he should advise them that we did not wish to become in- volved in this wrangle but that we were interested in the fastest and cheapest transporta- tion for the most people. 5. Jim Garrison also advised me of a change for our new building which would theoretically offer us protection against the kind of calamity which befell the Pentagon a year or so ago in a fire. There is some question as to whether this change, which would cost $60 to $70 thousand, is actually necessary, and I agreed that we should not approve of it until it had been completely staffed out and deemed to be necessary. r 25X1A9a 6.
