I reviewed with Jim Garrison some points of interest to the Office of Logis- tics which I picked up on my recent trip to the Far East. There were a lot of them. 2. John Tietjen briefed me on his idea of obtaining a rather senior panel of consultants to advise him on our problems, etc. I told him that I indorsed the idea and would be glad to arrange briefings for them at the appropriate time. 3. I attended a luncheon and briefing for Secretary of the Navy John B. Connally, Jr. who was very impressive and certainly very friendly toward the Agency. Toward the close of my presentation I told him about some of the difficulties we had in re- calling naval officers to active duty. His response was, "If that is all the trouble you are having you have nothing to worry about. " 4. Having noted in aily journal that Mr of25X1 A9A the Office of Logistics wanted to appe to his congressman about a refund of over- payment, I called Jim Garrison and told him to find out all about this and to discuss it with me. I do not want our employees running to their congressmen if it can be avoided. 25X1A Approved For Release 2001/11/01 Q_MP76-00183RO00300090089-7 Approved For ReJrejse 2001/11/01 .~@P76-00183R0Q00090089-7 7. 1 talked with John Tiet jen again about sending dependents overseas who are going to be a problem. The most recent case concerns an FE Division employee with 25X1 A6A a Mongoloid child who is to be assigned to the John was inclined to let them go if they insisted but to insure that they were not covered under the Agency's Medical Plan. After a lot of thought I told him that if they were going I would prefer that they be covered under the Agency's Medical Plan. (This problem bothers me more and more, and I want to do something soon to get some Agency policy guidance on it . ) LKW:laq (Tape) Approved For Release 2001/11/01 CIA-RDP76-00183R000300090089-7
