1. Larry Houston advised me that the Director had approved of Mr. -
~going ahead with the preparation and publication of his book. We, therefore, will
ave to provide space for him and also assistance.
2. I discussed with Jim Garrison the recommendation of the FE Division that
25X1A6a we turn over all our facilities without reimbursement and
without any strings attached. I approved of this action.

3. Jim reported that he has had a Contracting Officer working full time with the
National Photographic Interpretation Center and that without this man and the pressure
which I have been putting on he did not believe that NPIC could possibly have been ready
to move into on schedule. He will give me a more complete briefing
Monday, 19 February.
4. I met with the Reorganization Committee for an hour-and-a-half at which
time I suggested that consideration be given to removing the Comptroller, the Audit
Staff, and the General Counsel from the DD/S Area. It was my impression that the
Committee concurred in these suggestions and would adopt them as its own recommen-
dation to the Director. I have another hour-and-a-half session with the Committee on

5. Jim Garrison has recommended tha be considered as an alternate
for for the Support Planning assignment if Fred should fail to

6. Jim reported that he had received a note from in which Bruce
