SECRET Approved For Relee 2001/08/08: CIA-RDP76-00183R000AP0030057-7 DIARY NOTES DD/S J 15 November 1962 1. I talked today to Emmett Echols, and 25X1A9a about Christmas decorations. has agreed to accept the chairmanship of the committee to plan for a Christmas program for the 25X1A9a Agency under the sponsorship of the Director of Personnel. (I have asked Bob ~W see if there is any possibility of using appropriated funds to defray a part of the expenses. If this is not permissible, we will have to use welfare funds.) 2. I talked to Jim Garrison again about putting more pressure on the General Services Administration to complete our headquarters building. When he spoke to Mr. Van Vranken a few days ago, Van asked for one more week. Since the week is now up, I told Jim to go back and see what had been accom- plished and then to advise me as to whether we should go to the Public Buildings Service Commissioner or to the General Services Administrator. 3. I passed on to Emmett Echols the memorandum from Mr. Kirkpatrick concerning Agency guest speakers at universities and told Emmett that I would like to arrange to brief Kirk on our total program within the next few days. 4. I met with Larry Houston and Emmett Echols to discuss our insurance problems and have arranged for a meeting tomorrow with them, as well as to talk further about this. 5. Mr. Kirkpatrick alert~d me that Mr. McCone was in a mood to pursue either acquisition ore a `W on properties surrounding our building in order to ensure proper protection. (He is sending me a memorandum on this.) 6. Wit I looked at and approved the space proposed for the Records Integration Division on the ground floor. (This means that DD/R will have to give up some space here and accept other space on the ground floor. They are most reluctant to do this, but I told they would have to do it, notwithstanding any prior commit- ments they think they may have had from Mr. Kirkpatrick. I have also advised Kirk of this action.) Approved For Release 2001/08/ > : DP76-00183R000400030057-7 Approved For Rel.e 2001/08/0; PIA-DP76-00183R00U00030057-7 7. Colonel Roberts, Chief of the Air Force Security Control Office, telephoned to talk to me about I gave him a full run-down on Jack. It was my impression that he felt Jack would be a good man for the job he had in mind and that Jack would, in fact, get the job. 8. Shef Edwards briefed me on a rather sensitive case involving in which OSI of the Air Force is heavily involved. It 25X1A6a wou appear, however, that the Contact Division's did not handle the situation very well. (Shef has sent to_o interview and I will get a further report.) 25X1A6a LKW:jas 25X1A9a Approved For Release 2001/01310 -RDP76-00183R000400030057-7 S_ LU 9ET,
