DIARY NOTES
DD/S 11i7 12 September 1962
1. Matt Baird telephoned to say that efinitely would not
be leaving the Management Training faculty. had indicated
that he might possibly be selected to organize the NPIC training effort.)
25X1A9a 2. telephoned to say that the Office of Emergency
Plannin had requested that we bring our succession list up to date. I asked
25X1A9a to bring this to General Carter's attention. (However, I am
not at all optimistic that he will break it loose.)
3. John Bross called me about the list we had submitted in connection
with the outflow of dollars. He seemed reluctant to put this before the
Financial Budget and Policy Review Committee. I told him that this made no
difference to me but that I did feel I should pass on all of the suggestions made
by DD/S offices. I also felt that the Comptroller should select specific areas
which should be studied further and assign the responsibility to the appropriate
component. I told him that we would be glad to cooperate in every way in
pursuing these studies. He indicated that he would accept this suggestion and
act accordingly.
4. was in to see me regarding the following:
a. He showed me a draft of the proposed statement of functions for

tion to it but, of course, would reserve final judgment until it had been
properly coordinated.
b. He said also that he was interested in talking with Lieutenant
