Sherman Kent expressed his great appreciation for the work the Print- ing Services Division did over the past weekend in connection with a "crash" National Intelligence Estimate. He said that either Mr. McCone or General Carter is going to send along a written commendation. 2. At the Executive Committee Meeting this morning, the Director was very complimentary of Jack Earman'sreport on personnel security and seemed satisfied that the quality of our personnel security program was high indeed. He asked Jack to redo this report in some way (so that it would not be an IG report); he wants to give it to the Defense Intelligence Agency without deviating from our policy of not making IG reports available to anyone else. 3. At the Senior Staff Meeting this morning, I gave a brief talk on person- nel security and passed out copies of significant excerpts from our regulations on the responsibility of employees, supervisors, and Operating Officials in connection with leave and unforeseen absences. 25X1A5a1 4.
