1. I met with to 25X1A9a
discuss the study which they are preparing to show what we are doing for
ourselves and what we are doing for others. who had conducted 25X1 A9a
the study up to this point, had not approached the problem in this way and is
going to have to start over again. (I think, however, that we are on the same
wave length this time . )
2. I had a very friendly talk with Dr. - who is going to resign as 25X1 A9a
Chief of our Psychiatric Staff in mid-October. He appeared to be well-disposed
toward the Agency and said that he would be very happy to help us in any way he
could after his departure. He believes that we have by all odds a better selec-
tion program than anyone else in Government or in industry. He said, however,
that by spending another $5, 000 to $10, 000 per annum to buy some machine time
family in Washington and hopes to have them join him sometime later. If they
cannot do this, he hopes to find some way to get back here for his daughter's
wedding next summer.
we should have a much better program. (I want to follow up on this with John
Tletjen.)
3. who is going to be Chief of Base at -was in to say
good-by. (I think that he will do a good job there.) He is leaving his wife and

4. 1 received a telephone call from who conveyed a message 25X1A9a
to me from Mr. Kirkpatrick to the effect that the Director was most unhappy
about the air conditioning and heating systems in the building and wanted to know
what we could do about it.
