1. At John Bross's request I reviewed the paper which he has prepared
for the Director concerning personnel ceilings. I thought that it was a good
paper and made one suggestion which he incorporated. (At the morning meeting
on Friday, 30 August, John advised General Carter that this paper was all
ready for the Director and suggested that might take it to him to- 25X1A9a
night when he goes to the West Coast.)
2. telephoned to say goodby prior to his departure
25X1A6a to become In view of his health this should be
a good assignment for him.
3. telephoned to say that he had been in touch with the GSA
Budget Officer, who had indicated that GSA would include funds in their budget
for the provided the target date for occupancy is not later than
1 July 1964. If it is later, we will probably have to provide the Fiscal Year 196L5'
money in our budget. I told John that I had this very much on my mind and would
give him some advice next week after contacting GSA.
