If was going to have access to classified material, John felt we should give Senator Scott some background regarding 25X1 A9a resignation from the Agency. After clearing the matter with General Carter, who agreed that we should at least put Senator Scott on notice, I telephoned the Senator and found that they were considering him for a temporary / fund-raising job which would last only a few months. The Senator waadevvd4f c4J w .,. there was any problem in his handling of funds. I assured him that there wasn't, and he was very appreciative of our letting him know there would be a clearance problem. EA - DD/S 9. We received today the Comptroller's quarterly report on the class of air accommodations used by Agency travelers along with a comparative summary of the experience of major components since November of 1962 (DD/S 63-3607).
