This was a pilot model, and the Office of Communications plans to develop a similar book for each station in the world where there is any likelihood of evacuation. 25X1 A9a 2. 1 discussed briefly with my proposed trip this spring, and he urged me to go to ~ if at all possible. 3. General Carter's appointment this afternoon with John Macy, Chairman of the Civil Service Commission, was cancelled by Mr. Macy. As a result, General Carter agreed that I should discuss our summer employment program with Warren Irons, Executive Director of the Civil Service Commission. (I will meet with Mr. Irons on Friday, 28 February, at 11:30 a.m.) 4. Mr. Kirkpatrick buzzed to express his unhappiness that the Security Reindoctrination Program had not yet been launched. After checking with Bob Bannerman, I advised Kirk that we would be ready to present this program any time on or after 2 March, and it was agreed that we would have a dry run for him and any others he might care to invite on 3 March at 2 p.m. (Bob has been advised.) 25X1A9a 5. Jim Garrison and were In to talk with me about real estate held by proprietaries. While the recent Agency Notice has brought forth some additional reports, the Notice has not been complied with in its entirety; and we still do not know for sure where we stand in this matter. I asked Jim to draft a memorandum for the signature of the Executive Director-Comptroller to the Deputies directing that they either supply the information to the Director of Logistics, furnish a certificate that all information has been supplied, or provide justification if they believe some proprietary holdings should not be supplied. 6. Jim Garrison was in to discuss the following: a. We talked about contracting for DD/S&T. I asked Jim to prepare a written reply to the recent memorandum I received from Bud Wheelon on this subject. I also cautioned him to be particularly careful in the handling of these contracts.
