SPD Daily Report - 30 August 1973
In an effort to break loose a decision in the IC Staff on the subject
of the size and makeup of military detailee staffing, we have delivered
to the DCI Admin. Officer a memorandum for coordination and concur-
rence by the IC Staff and DCI/Admin. This memorandum is from the
Director of Personnel to the DD/M&S and describes the Agency's need
for additional military quota in order to satisfy IC requirements and
recommends that the DD/M&S sign a memorandum (which is supplied
for him) to the Department of Defense on this subject. The DOD is
not fighting us on the subject of increased quota. Our impression is
that they are ready to accede to our request for 24 military spaces
but they simply want a piece of paper and they want to be able to
identify our specific requirements for the IC Staff.
