1. Mr. Bemiltan called and asked tor estimates of obligations and
expenditures during the nasal Years 1956 and 1957 under the Building Appro-
priation. After discussions with , the falowing estimates were
furnished to Mr. Bemilton:

* It was estimated that the contract for the construction 'mould
be entered into on I Amen' 1957 and the construction would be
completed by 1 January 1999. /t is requested that the Bureau
of the Budget estimate these expenditures an the actual con-
struction of the building based on prior experience and building
construction expenditures. This was agreed to. In subsequent
discussions with me. Hamilton, he indicated that they had
estimated that $8.6 million mould be disbursed during FY 1957
if the contract was entered into by 1 January 1957.
2. The Above information had been requested by Mt. Hamilton in connection
with some overall expenditure figures being prepared in the Bureau.
