Dear Mr. Cron:
At the suggestion of Mr. Thomas Cooke, .Bureau of Public Roads
Budget Officer, I am writing to confirm officially our informal request
of Mr. Elmer L. Termites to have the Bureau of Public Roads assume
responsibility for eagineeriag and construction of a parking area on
Parcel A of the property formerly occupied by the Department of the
Army as an aati-aircraft site at Langley, Virginia.
It is our understanding that you are willing to begin imasediately
to develop plans, specifications, and estimates for our review aid that
you will bill the Ageacy for the expenses, which are estimated at $5,000.
Arrangements for an advance for a construction contract will be mad.
between our respective budget officials at a later date.
We are very anxious to have this parking area constructed as
soon as possible slime practically all of our stew building will be occupied
by the end of this year. It is also our desire that the optimum number
of parking spaces be developed after removal of aU buildings except the
garage building in the southeast corner of the area, which is required by
the Public Buildings Service for storage of grounds equipment. further
requirements consist of a paved road connecting this parking are* to
the paved road on our Headquarters Building site, and the placement of
a new gate across the road loading from Routs 193, leaving free access
from the site to the now parking area.

feel assured that we aro ready to cooperate with you in any way possible.
