This is in reply to your memorandum dated August' 8, 1974,
subject, "Impact of Privacy Legislation," requesting the numbers of
information systems and records involved and the estimated dollar
cost of implementing the various provisions of the draft alternate
language to H. R. 12206, dated 17 May, prepared by OMB.
You noted that this information was previously requested in
a memorandum from Mr. Skidmore dated May 20, 1974. In my reply
to Mr. Skidmore, dated June 12, 1974, I mentioned that since the
Central Intelligence Agency was being given a full exemption from the
provisions of the alternate draft bill, we would not supply the
additional information requested. This was previously agreed to in
a conversation between Mr. Reeder of your staff and
of my office.
Enclosed is the information in the format requested. I trust
that this is satisfactory for your purposes. It should be noted that the
total of the two million individual personnel, security, medical, and
other administrative files represents several files for each person.
