1. (Internal Use Only - SWH) In s absence, spoke with
NSA, who called to alert us that the Ervin bill, having to do with
polygraph and constitutional rights of civilian employees of the executive 25X1A
ranch (S. 1688, H. R. 128 into markup at 2:00 p.m. today.
I explained tothat was on the Hill this afternoon, but that
we would try to get in touch with him in case he might be able to stop by and
find out what had transpired in markup.
2. (Internal Use Only - KKH) Received a call from Claudia Henagan,
in the district office of Representative John Breaux, (D. , La. ), requesting
personnel information, specifically the location of the nearest regional
recruiter. I took her number to call her back after checking on it. ' I
called Personnel and the said to t the constituent's name, address and
phone number so th recruiter could get in touch directly.
I called Ms. Henagan back and relayed the information. The constituent is
3. (Unclassified - SWH) Called Marcia MacNaughton, Senate
overnment Operations Committee staff, to determine the status of S. 3418,
a bill to establish a Federal Privacy Board. Miss MacNaughton said markup
on a new version of the bill (Confidential Committee Print No. 5) would
begin tomorrow.
4. (Internal Use Only - SWH) Called Helen Mattas, Staff Assistant,
ious?e Foreign Affairs Committee, to request a copy of the amendment by
Representative Michael Harrington (D. , Mass.) on CIA covert action which
was offered and defeated during last. Thursday's markup session of the House
xesion of the Forei ri-Assistance Act. The copy was made available.
