SUBJECT : Review of Classification Authority Delegations
REFERENCE . Memo dated 21 February 1973, Same Subject, from
Executive Secretary CIA Management Committee
1. The Office of National Estimates has carefully reviewed
its delegations of classification authority under the provisions
of Executive Order 11652. This review was based on the need of
individuals to possess such classification authority.
2. ONE, therefore, proposes to reduce the number of its
authorized classifiers from twelve to nine. The reduction
would be from among those individuals having authority to
classify at the SECRET and CONFIDENTIAL level, leaving the
number of TOP SECRET classifiers unchanged at five.
