I am deeply in the debt of both yourself and your fine colleagues who labored long and successfully to insure I was adequately prepared to give testimony to the House Select Committee on Intelligence Activities on 4 November 1975. 2. There was no question raised that could have been foreseen for which you had not equipped me to address mysel. I would appreciate it if you would do two things for me. Please express my deep appreciation to all who labored, including last Saturday, in compiling my reference material. Secondly, I think it important for your people to know as follows. As you know, it was a joint appearance of Messrs. Duckett, Nelson and myself. We had about one and. a half hours open session and two hours closed session. We ompanied, and counseled as necessary, by Mitch the Director's Special Counsel. Mitch reported to 9:00 o'clock Morning Meeting on 5 November that it was "an impressive performance" by the three individuals.
