Approved For Release 2005/11/21 :CIA-RDP77M00144R000400020043-2 S~GRET 27 May 1975 25X1A SUBJECT: Meeting with Jack Boos, House Select Committee Staff 1. Following the meeting with Chairman Nedzi late this afternoon, I dropped by Jack Boos' office to advise him of my meeting with Mr. Nedzi and to cover the same topics with Boos. 2. As we discussed the proceedings being conducted by the Senate Select Committee as they are reported in the newspapers, Boos expressed considerable interest in the Committee's concentration on the subject of assassination and asked me if we had given the Senate Committee any documentation on the subject. I said indeed we had and that I was sure that duplicate copies were avai.lab.le and would be provided to the House Committee once it has established its security procedures and facilities. We both noted the problem which the House Committee .has with respect to extremely sensitive material, i. e. , Representative Harrington's past performance in disclosing the Director's briefing on Chile. I mentioned that because the documentation on this subject is extremely sensitive, the Senate Select Committee has agreed to have this material placed in the vault of the Joint Committee on Atomic Energy. Boos indicated that procedure would, he thought, be quite acceptable to the House Committee. In fact, he suggested an even tighter control which was that the material be retained at Agency Headquarters subject to inspection by appropriate committee staff. 3. of our office accompanied me to my meeting with Mr. Boos. We were introduced to the Committee's Chief of Security, Mr. Ca r.1 Simms. We talked about the progress that is being made with respect to their physical security arrangements SECRET Approved For Release 2005/11/21 :CIA-RDP77M00144R000400020043-2 Approved For Release 2005/11/21 :CIA-RDP77M00144R000400020043-2 ~~~~~T ~~L1 ~~ and Simms mentioned that both Don Moore of the USIB Security Committee, and the FBI, and Charles Kane, our Director of Security, have reviewed their facilities and approved them. He did indicate, however, that they were planning to either augment or change their facilities to another location and there there would be further discussions with our security people about those arrangements. I told both Boos and Simms that they were dealing with the right people on this subject and I also suggested that sometime next week Mr. Knoche and I get together with Boos, and hopefully with Searle Field. I told Mr. Boos of Mr. Nedzi's thought about an open session with the Director soon after Congress returns from the Memorial Day recess and I said I would be taking the subject up with the Director but I thought he would welcome the opportunity fora .limited appearance in open session. 25X1A ea ~ e ary ~~ Legislative Counsel Approved For Release 2005/11/21 :CIA-RDP77M00144R000400020043-2
