Chiles' office inquired of Air America as to the details
1. Attached is a -*morandua for the Record frc
on relating to the loss of VTR 3674c . As background,
he loss of this aircraft on behalf of the pilot's wife. Air
America referred Senator Chiles to Transavia International since
this corporation was ferrying the aircraft at the time it was lost
Accordii g to r. Peterson's mane, Senator Chiles' office is seeking
aintenance records and log books of the aircraft and obviously
documents are in Air America's possession.

I have asked that Air America got together the maintenance records
and log books for the three aircraft involved and have it available
here in Washington. I have so questions however, as to whether
it should be furnished to the Senator. If the widow intends to
file suit against Air America alledging improper mainteenance, etc.
Air America is Insured and the defense would be handled by the
Insurance company. Under their Insurance Air America is precluded
from doing anything, which would tend to Impair the insurance company's
defense any suit, and the passage of this Information to t
Senator might fall into that category.
