OFFICE OF LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL
Monday - 9 June 1975
Representative Andrew Maguire (D. , N.J.), to tell him that the Agency
representative whom we had thought might be available to attend the
conference o! ,^ sponsored by the Fund For New Priorities in
America, would not be available tomorrow and regretted that we did not
have another Agency representative appropriate for this purpose. Kerr
expressed regret, but hopefully, understood that we had at least tried to
provide an Agency representative.
2. Charles Snodgrass, House Appropriations
Committee staff, called about the paper OGG is preparing on the constitu-
tional issue regarding publication of the Agency budget. I told him I had
checked with Mr. Warner this morning and the paper would be ready for
him tomorrow.
3. Called Clark McFadden, General Counsel,
Senate Armed Services Committee, to tell him that the staff of the Senate
Select Committee has requested access to the Director's prepared statements
on intelligence briefings given to the Senate Armed Services Committee. I
said we did not propose to show the Committee the transcript of these, but
certainly, we would be in a difficult position to refuse access to the prepared
statements. McFadden said he was inclined to agree and thought it would be a
good idea for me to mention this to Chairman Stennis. I said I would do so,.
4. Jay Sourwine, Senate Internal Security
Subcommittee staff, called to ask if we had any record of the criminal or
other use of the poison known as Alstonine. Sourwine is particularly
interested in whether we have any record of the use of.-this substance by
the KGB.
5. Dorothy Fosdick, Permanent Investigations
Subcommittee staff, called and asked if I could tell her anything of the currentSTAT
ld her I would check and be back in touch with her.
