LEGISLITION Called Bob Belair, on the staff of the Domestic Council at the White House, and suggested that he discuss electronic surveillance with Brent Scowcroft, Assistant to the President for National Security kffai.rs, or his Deputy, Bill Ryland. Belair said that he hoped we would talk to him on the issue of electronic surveillance in any case and that he had already arranged sessions with DC?J, NSA, Jim Wilderotter (at the White House), and Kevin Maroney (at the Justice Department). 25X1 25X1 10. LIAISON Marsha Mat-its, Defense Subcommittee, House Appropriations Committee staff, called and said that Ralph Preston, Staff Assistant, would like two rrio:re copies of the paper that Mr. Gary delivered to hint on 11 November to be used in regard to allegations against CIA. I told her that:I would pass this on to Mr. Gary. 11. ~ ~ LIAISON Called Mary Eby, in the office of Senator Robert C. Byrd (D. , W. Va. ), in response to her earlier inquiry and apologized for the slight delay in replying to Mr. Fitzwater's request concerning his past: employment with the Agency and that the information would be submitted to him early next week. I said the would provide a courtesy copy to the Senator' s office. (Apparently the information is needed to facilitate entry into the United States of a child from Southeast Asia, in whom Fitzwater has a special interest.) 12. I I ADMINISTRATIVE Mr. Charles Watson, QTR, advised that Senator Mike Gravel (I7. , Alaska) will be addressing the Senior Seminar on Tuesday, 18 November, from. 3:30 to 5:00 p. m. He said Mr. Cary and Mr. Miller are invited to sit in. (This was arranged through of OTT who met.
