5.1 1 Met with Dorothy Fosdick, Professional
Staff Director, Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, Senate-
Government Operations Committee, in connection with the upcoming
vote on S. 846. Fosdick said that Senator Henry M. Jackson (D.,-, Wash. }
had committed a vote against the bill and I told her that 1 just wanted to
make sure that they are aware of the importance of the intelligence
collection capabilities. At her request, I left with her the classified
Aide Memoir.
In connection with the follow-up items from. Mr. Zellmerrs, IDS&r,.
briefing of. 12 May o-u; -+- Fosdick deferred to Richard. Perle,
of the Subcommittee staff, who was out ill, as he has been delegated 25X1
responsibility in these areas. I will check back on. Perle's availability.
