Dear Mr. Chairman:

The Archivist of the United States has forwarded
to us a copy of your letter of 9 May 1975 in which
you request that the National Archives make available
to your Select Committee for inspection a number of
documents and materials which were made available by
this Agency to the Warren Commission. As you state,
these documents have been withheld.from research. The
CIA would interpose no objection to the inspection and
review by members of your staff of these documents and
materials at the National Archives.
It is suggested, however, that if you wish spe-
cific documents and materials made available to the
Committee, you follow procedures which have been agreed
to by your Committee and this Agency, i.e., you inform
us of the documents which you wish and we in turn shall
make the documents available to you from this Agency
following our review procedure. I trust you will find
this suggestion satisfactory.
