the transcripts in our possession of the Baker inquiry available to the
Presidential Commission staff and although I did not think that approval
from him was necessary, we did want to notify him of our intent in view
of his dealings with the Presidential Commission and e.
Swearingen said he would prefer we not release the material tot e
Commission until he has had an opportunity to inventory and assume
custody of the Ervin Select Committee material in the Joint Committee on
Atomic Energy vault. He said he expected to move on this within the
next couple of days at which time he would ask me to join with he and
George Murphy, Deputy Director, Joint Committee on Atomic Energy,
to undertake the inventory and to work out procedures for access to the
material in line with the understanding and written commitments undertaken
by Senator Howa-rd Baker (R. , Tenn.) to Mr. Colby with respect to this
material.
