(Internal Use Only - PLC) Received a call from Jim. lfronfelcl, Counsel, House Government Operations Subcommittee on Gover-nment Information and Individual Rights, and discussed further the Director's appearance before the Subcommittee tomorrow. 2. .(Internal Use Only - FMC) Received a call from Mildred Ward, Secretary to Senator John C. Stennis (D., Miss.), who asked for the home telephone number for Mr. Cary. After checking, I gave Miss. Ward the number. 3. (Internal Use Only - PLC) George Gilbert, OMB, called to request that the Agency handle matters involving the. Lam. J o. t ie Sea as we had in the last session of Congress. Gilbert said the Agency need not submit any comments on any proposed statements by executive agencies before congressional committees unless they wish to do so. (Internal Use Only - DFM) Called Mike Fasano.. OMB regarding their request for our comments on GSA's two draft bills to release certain materials from the national stockpile. OMB's requests were dated 12 and 26 February 1975. After checking with. DDI and NIO/Econ, I informed Mr. Fasano that the Agency had no comments on either of these proposals. He said a written response would not be required. 6. (Unclassified - RJK) Delivered copies of the prepared statement the Director will make before Chairwoman. Bella S. Abzug's (D., N. Y. ) Subcommittee on Government Information and Individual Rights,, House Government Operations Committee, tomorrow to: Ed Braswell, Chief Counsel and Staff Director, Senate Armed Services Committee; Guy McConnell, Senate Appropriations Committee; Ralph Preston, Staff Assistant, House Appropriations Committee; and Frank Slatinshek, Chief Counsel, House Armed Services Committee. Also left with McConnell a graphic on Soviet and American bombers which he had requested from Mr. C.ary. 7. (Internal Use Only - RJK) Left with Helen Dackis, secretary to William Jordan, Senate Appropriations Committee staff, the Director's response to an inquiry from Chairman Daniel K. Inouye (D., Hawaii), of the Subcommittee on Foreign Operations. 8. (Internal Use Only - RJK) At a few minutes after 1600 hours, went to Representative Bella S. Abzug's (D. , N. Y.) office and delivered. the Director's response to her inquiry about an Agency file in her name. 9. (Internal Use Only - RJK) Met with Barbara Goldman, on the staff of Representative Barbara Jordan (D. , Tex. ), and provided her with a letter from a constituent, a I told her that our peoAT had met with answered his questions, and that his only request was that the Agency transmit a copy of his letter to Representative Jordan. Ms. Goldman said that this letter and her earlier conversations with Mr. ould satisfactorily close out the case. 10. (Unclassified - RJK) Met with Bill Miles, on the staff of Representative Bill Alexander (D., Ark.), and provided him with a map showing directions to the Agency. Miles said the Congressman would come alone to the breakfast on Friday morning and would be driving either a blue and white Chevy van or an orange Volkswagen. He gave me a series of questions the Congressman wished to raise about Panama and I said I would pass these on to the appropriate people.
