1. (Unclassified - GLC) OGC, advised of a call
he had received from Monroe Lee of Lee was actually
following up on an inquiry he had received from Phil Areeda, White House
Legal Counsel office, regarding Agency action pursuant to Section 662 of the
Foreign Assistance Act as amended. I advised Lee of the status of our
contacts with the various committees on the Hill including the fact that the
Presidential finding had been made in accordance with this section of the
law. I also attempted to reach Areeda directly but without success.
