The Committee on Armed Services met in open session on Febru- ary 27, 1975 to consider House Resolution 72. Before the Committee was a letter from the counsel to the President explaining the Presi- dent's position on the resolution noting that he had appointed a special commission to inquire into Central Intelligence Agency activities, that the Senate had appointed a select committee to look into intelligence activities and that at the time a similar committee was proposed in the House. The Committee noted that since the date of that letter the House has appointed a Select Committee on Intelligence which, among other responsibilities, will inquire into the foreign and domestic activi- ties of the Central Intelligence Agency. The Committee on Armed Services at the meeting on February 27, 1975, a quorum being present, by unanimous vote ordered House Resolution 72 adversely reported to the House of Representatives. 0 Approved For Release 2001/08/30 CIA-RDP77M00144R000800050006-6 -22 ^ UNCLAS dMed ForL Iq&/08/30 : CIA-RDP77PI10 1,C(NeO6-6 r ^ SECRET ROUTING AND RECORD SHEET SUBJECT: (Optional) Deputy Legislative Counsel TO: (Officer designation, room number, and building) 1.
