one individual (e.;., husband and wife). On the other hand, a few inciividuoIs
ire counted more than once. In the latter category are those persons who
have submitted both FOla and PA requests. In ad(li.tion, if another agency
referred ruucords to the CIA per.tainin-, to an individual whose request we
had already closed out, the request was assigned a new number.
Letters requesting access to personal files were received from an
additional 2,152 individuals. These requests were not logged for processing
because identifying information, such as date and place of birth, was
lacking. The requesters were asked to provide this information, but, for
reasons unknown to us, they failed to follow through.
