TAX REDUCTION
Committee on Finance: Committee concluded hearings
on H.R. 2166, proposed Tax Reduction Act of 1975,

Associations; William F. McKenna, National Savings
& Loan League; Carl A. Coan, Jr., National Association

Association of Manufacturers, all of Washington, D.C.;
and Kenneth Rosen, Joint Center for Urban Studies
of MIT and Harvard University,Cambridge.

CONSUMER PROTECTION
Committee on Government Operations: Committee
ordered favorably reported with amendments S. 200, to
establish a nonregulatory agency in the executive branch

Also, committee reconsidered its action of January 28,
1975, when it ordered favorably reported S. 172, provid-
ing an increase in amounts of reimbursable official travel
expenses for Federal employees (including an increase
from $25 per day to $35 per day in basic per diem),
agreed to an additional amendment thereto, and again
approved the bill for reporting to the Senate.
