Approved For Rase 2002/05/06 : CIA-RDP78-00433AW100020012-7 SECRET MEMORANDUM FOR: Deputy Director for Support SUBJECT Proposed CIA Archives Regulation 1. Attached to this memorandum is the most recent draft CIA archives regulation This proposed regulation has been reviewed and coordina e y the CIA Records Management Board. However, we have stopped short of conducting formal coordination of this proposed regulation. 2. We are of the opinion that the further processing of this proposed regulation should be deferred pending discussion with Colonel White and verification of his position vis-a-vis Agency policy on an active archives program. It is our under- standing that Doctor Howard Ehrmann is pursuing this matter with Colonel White during this week. 3. The Support Services Staff currently is preparing a memorandum for your consideration, forwarding the draft regulation to Colonel White. We believe that he will wish to rule on not only the appropriateness of establishing an archives program at this time, but also establishing whether positions to man the archives program will be forthcoming. 4. Also attached for your information is a copy of the memorandum to the Executive Director dated 10 March 1970 from the Deputy Director for Support urging that the archives program be initiated. 25X1A Chief, Support Services Staff ET ..
