SUBJECT : Motorized Shelving Project;fotecords Center 25X1A
REFERENCE : OL/RECD, Memo for Record (OL 0-2349), 22 April 1970.
1. As the office of primary interest in subject project, we
have asked to be kept informed of progress installation.
As a result the Logistics Project Officer as been providing
us with copies of correspondence with
which have been most helpful.
2. The attached memorandum for the record from
points up a possible problem area which is of some concern to us.
Although the vendors had indicated in their preliminary proposal that
they could use Prison Industry Shelving for this project, we have no
absolute guarantee that they will be able to do so. This contingency
was discussed with
during the meeting on 15 April 1970 (see reference), at which time
we agreed that the vendors should be provided an opportunity to
perform simulated tests in their factories, before deciding on the
adaptability of Prison Industry Shelving for an installation of this
magnitude.
3. I thin s point is well taken that it may be ill-
advised to commit ourselves to procuring the additional Prison Industry
Shelving for until we are certain that the vendors will
be able to adapt their systems to this type of shelving I suggest
that the Logistics Project Officer discuss this point with su
