Information School, followed by on-the-job training at Array Pictorial Center.,
The three (3) television repairmen should be trained at Fort Monmouth, foll.ou;ed
by some on-the-job training at Army Pictorial Center. Personnel for training
should be selected from Pakistan armed Forces personnel already in the United
States0
C. All personnel should attend a ttilo-week training course at the factory
of the equipment manufacturer.
D Extent of training required for personnel in I, So Army schools
should be based on preli ld nary tests of Pakistan personnel as to current
status of training.

A. Signal Corps TV engineers can assist in placement of the antenna and
equipment. A topographical map with coverage requirements will be provided,
plus building layout, power layout, and air-ground photo of genera area,,
B. !Availability of Pcwer: Minimm potter requirements for a 50 to 200
watt TV station (standard lone-power package ecornmended) are: Transmitter,
no volts, 60 amps, 5-5 kw Video & Test, 11.0 volts, 85 amps, 7-5 br,
Lighting, 110 volts,, 50 amps, 4-5 kw Power mast be 60 cycles, plus or minus
cycle, for stable operation,,

This keeps the transmitting antenna fairly small, and likewL se then the receiving
antennas are small. It should be determined what, channels are available with
due regard for interference,,
5. Availability of Receivers
Commercial-type receivers will be purchased,, based on the American TV
scan systenx,, inasmuch as the transmitting equipment trill be purchased in the
U, S, American ma nifacturers can provide a bulk allotment with recommended
spare parts kit to keep the receivers repaired. Repair of TV receivers will
be a function of the TV station personnelo The whole plan of DA assistance
is based on the prmise that Pakistan, will effect coordination t.*3th the
Deputy Chief of Staff for Military Operations, U,, S. Axmy.
