An engineering model of an antenna tuner was developed and tested by members of EES. The unit is basically a modified application of the components of the TAC-1, and initial test results were encouraging, showing considerable improvement in performance over the conventional TAC-1. Comparative tests are to be run against Collins' 180-T2 tuner and against an unmodified TAC to assist in evaluation. LE. We have begun preliminary work on a project, thus far un-numbered to study and compare the R-39OA and other receivers with the 51J-~ and the Hammarlund SP-600 with a view toward passible replacement of the 51J-~ as OC Standard. 25X1A9a 5.
